Let’s get your greatest fear out of the way — I’m not going to ask you for money. Spare dark chocolate, on the other hand…
Running this site isn’t terribly expensive (right now, anyway), but there are some expenses, so it would be nice to be able to be able to offset them. If only there was a way to do that without having to ask for money…
As you may have guessed, there actually is a way. A few online retailers offer affiliate programs — in exchange for using their links, called affiliate links, they pay the site owner a (very²) small percentage when someone uses those links to order something. It doesn’t cost the buyer anything extra, and over time it hopefully adds up to enough to offset some of the site’s expenses.
Thus, some of the links you see here, typically for albums or books, use affiliate links to Amazon. The price you pay if you use the link here is exactly the same if you navigated to the site yourself. The only difference is that if you order something using the affiliate links here, Amazon pays me a (again, very²) small percentage. They do this because it’s worth it to them to have people linking to their site.
Note that the links work for your entire buying session, but only that session. Thus, if you use a link here to go view an album, decide not to buy it, but then navigate in the same session to the Ghirardelli Chocolate Intense Dark Squares and buy a gross because you heard someone you know likes dark chocolate (ahem), then we would make a small percentage from that sale (and, again, you would pay the same price you would pay if you navigated straight there).
As soon as you close that browser window and/or tab, however, the affiliate link is no longer active. We won’t get credit for what you purchase after that, until you come back here and use another affiliate link.
Thank you for your patronage of this site, and should you happen to buy something as a result of what you read here, we would greatly appreciate you using our links to do so.
