We had some New Yorkers stay with us a few weeks ago, and one of the discussions revolved around differences between northerners and southerners.

When Words Won’t Work
Private Parts
Ten years ago last month, Sharon and I were in Guatemala on a mission trip. When the team got back to the hotel at the end of the day, one of the team members spent all of his spare time on the hotel’s computer. The iPhone wasn’t even a year old, so being connected every waking moment wasn’t yet a thing. After a couple of days, I finally asked him what he was doing.
Do you ever think about life’s fateful turning points, dreaming about time travel and what it might be like to go back and change one of the bad decisions you made?
Spaghetti Symphony
You knew there was no way I wasn’t going to link to this. The title theme is excellent (I’ve been listening to it for 50+ years and they get it pretty close to note perfect), but stick around for the best four minutes of music in movie history.
(The “waa-WAA-waaaa” lady sounds great, but she looks like she’d rather be doing the dishes.)
If somebody wants to take me to this symphony, I’ll gladly go.

The Lull
It’s Saturday. Tomorrow is Easter, the day we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection. A lot has been written about that day, starting with the Gospels (Matt 28, Mark 16, Luke 24, John 20) and extending almost ad infinitum to the present day.
Yesterday was Good Friday, the king of all mis-named days in honor of the King of Kings. A lot has been written about that day, too (Matt 27, Mark 15, Luke 23, John 18:28ff).
But today’s Saturday, and no one writes about Saturday.
